Product Description And Additional Pictures

We are offering an amazing antique French porcelain chocolate pot originally exported from Limoges, France to the United States by PH Leonard, a New York importer of Limoges, Austrian and German porcelains who was in business from 1890 to approximately 1918. Typical of PH Leonard exports, although this antique French porcelain chocolate pot appears to have been factory decorated, it bears Leonard's export mark rather than the factory decorating mark. Perhaps it was the result of an individual arrangement he negotiated with the various factories that he purchased from. Leonard's German and Austrian export endeavors filed bankruptcy by 1898, but the Limoges export business continued until the year that WWI began.

This gorgeous antique French porcelain chocolate pot is in such clean and pristine condition that you would think it had just been unwrapped! As our photographs show, this antique French porcelain chocolate pot is absolutely clean - no stains, no crazing, no marks. It's condition couldn't be more perfect - there are no nicks, chips, cracks or other visible defects that would detract from the beauty and utility of this antique French porcelain chocolate pot. We believe that this lovely antique porcelain chocolate pot has spent its entire life in a cabinet -- whether it was lovingly displayed or pushed to the back, we can't say. But the result is a one hundred year old antique French porcelain chocolate pot which looks as fresh as the day it was minted! Measuring 9-1/2" from the base to the very top of the finial, this antique French porcelain chocolate pot rests on a 3" diameter base. The body is a delicous ecru, and it has been generously edged, gilded and splattered with gold. The result is both stunning and tasteful.
