We have a stunning Antique Imperial Nippon porcelain hand painted serving set which consists of a shallow serving bowl (9 3/4" in diameter, from handle to handle) and six identical smaller plates or bowls (6" in diameter from handle to handle). All of the pieces in this antique Imperial Nippon serving set have the blue Imperial Nippon backstamp. The serving bowl features a tree branch that encircles the rim of the bowl, with a variety of birds perched on the tree branches, amidst beautiful green leaves and cascading fruit or flowers. The outer rim of the serving bowl has a design in gold, blue and brown that is both elegant and striking. The individual bowls are exact copies of the serving bowl, including the handles, except that there are fewer birds painted into the design. This set is highly unusual, not only in its design and subject matter, but in the level of detail in the construction and artwork on all the pieces in this set. This Antique Imperial Nippon hand painted serving set is in perfect condition except for a few glaze pops and one chip on the back of one of the handles of the individual bowls (see our photograph). The chip is not visible from the front, nor does it threaten the integrity of the piece. Please feast your eyes on this lovely Antique Imperial Nippon Hand Painted Serving Set -- we think you will agree that it is a lovely treasure from the early years of the 20th century!
